Our Puppy Process & Policies

At Buckeye Doodles & Poodles, our priority as a top-rated Ohio breeder of Mini Goldendoodles and Mini Bernedoodles is to give each puppy the very best start in life—and each family a healthy, well-prepared companion.

Our puppies are raised in our home, surrounded by love, structure, and early development. Because of this, we have thoughtful policies in place to protect their health, safety, and overall well-being.

Visiting Our Puppies

We know how exciting it is to meet your future puppy ❤️

Because young puppies are still developing their immune systems, they are more vulnerable to illnesses that can be unknowingly carried in from outside environments.

For this reason:

• Visits begin when puppies are 6–8 weeks old
• All visits are by appointment only
• We kindly ask that no outside pets are brought to our home
• As our puppies are raised inside our home, we limit visitors for both puppy health and family safety

We truly appreciate your understanding as we create a safe, nurturing environment for our puppies.

Puppy Selection Day

One of the most exciting moments—choosing your puppy

Puppy Selection takes place between 6–7 weeks of age and is done in the order reservation fees were received.

To help you feel confident in your decision:

• You will receive individual videos of each available puppy prior to Selection Day
• You may choose your puppy:
  • In person
  • By phone or FaceTime
  • From your personalized videos
• We are always happy to help guide you in selecting the best fit for your family

Need More Time?

We understand that sometimes timing isn’t perfect.

• You may transfer your reservation to another litter or back to our Master Waitlist
• You will be placed in the next available position

Please note:
Transfers requested within 7 days of Selection Day (or after) will result in forfeiture of the reservation fee, and a new reservation will be required.

Go Home Day

The day you’ve been waiting for 💛

Puppies are ready to join their families at 8 weeks of age or older—never sooner.

• Go Home Day is scheduled on a Saturday
• Pickup is by appointment only
• Each family is given a 30-minute time slot

Important Notes

• If you cannot make your scheduled time, please let us know—we’re happy to help
• No call / no show will result in:
  • Loss of reservation fee
  • Loss of your puppy selection
  • Puppy being offered to the next family

    

Payment Information

• All puppies must be paid in full by Go Home Day
• For puppies traveling, full payment is required one week prior to transport

Extended Stay

Need a little extra time? We understand.

• Extended stays may be available with prior approval
• A boarding fee of $25 per day will apply

Reservation Fees

Reservation fees are non-refundable, as they secure your place in line for a specific litter.

If you are ever unable to keep your dog, please reach out to us. We are here to help find the best possible solution.

We never want one of our dogs to end up in a shelter or unsafe situation.

Our Right to Protect Our Program

Buckeye Doodles & Poodles reserves the right to:

• Refuse the sale of a puppy at any time
• Adjust policies as needed
• Make decisions in the best interest of our puppies and program

At Buckeye Doodles we have been fortunate enough to send our puppies all over the country. We may be located in Central Ohio, but we have Buckeye Doodle families from Maine to California, everywhere in between and as far as Puerto Rico and Canada. We are sometimes asked if we can deliver your new puppy personally and we would love to. We love meeting all of our new family members and knowing our babies are not traveling with a stranger. We base our flight rates off current airline ticket prices, cost of having puppy in-cabin by our side during flight ($120) and whether a hotel is needed. If we are driving, we base travel off fuel cost and round-trip mileage. You can be assured; they will be well taken care of and loved all the way to you.

We also work close with a trusted professional Flight Nanny and ground transportation in order to assure your new puppy will be safe in its travels. Just ask!!! We would be happy to help work out the details for you.   

If you choose to workout transportation yourself, we have composed a list of Flight Nannies and Pet Couriers from Google in order to better assist you with securing transporting options for your puppy. We are in no way affiliated with any of these businesses. It is your responsibility to check credibility and references.  Please ask for references and contact several past clients before booking your flight nanny or pet courier on your own. 

Your puppy will be leaving from Columbus OH CMH Airport. It is important to take note of this in order to book your Flight Nanny or Chillicothe OH for ground transport.
